Storia delle Società: AS Bovalinese, la fondazione

Nel 1928-29 vinse il Campionato Nazionale di II Divisione

L'attuale A.S. Bovalinese 1995 è sorta dall'U.S. Ippolitese, formazione della frazione Bosco Sant'Ippolito, i cui dirigenti hanno accolto il cambio di denominazione ed effettuato l'iscrizione al campionato di IIIª Categoria.

La storia calcistica bovalinese cominciò grazie ai fratelli Mario e Luigi Spagnolo, i quali, durante gli studi nell'Accademia Militare di Livorno, conobbero il gioco del calcio, che vollero importare nel proprio paese natale. Nacque così la F.C. Bovalino 1911 ed i colori sociali adottati furono il bianco ed il celeste.

Con l'affiliazione alla F.I.G.C. nella stagione sportiva 1928/1929, la squadra venne chiamata U.S. Bovalinese e vinse il Campionato Nazionale di IIª Divisione, l'equivalente dell'attuale Serie B.

La squadra si aggiudicò il Campionato 1930/1931 dell'U.L.I.C. (Unione Libera Italiana Calciatori) e nel 1936 quello della G.I.L. (Gioventù Italiana del Littorio).  

La storia del calcio bovalinese continua però regalando luce a sprazzi. Nel 1946, alla fine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, con la ripresa dei campionati, l' U.S. Bovalinese mutò il suo nome in A.S. Bovalinese ed assunse come colori sociali l'amaranto.

La neonata società, nella stagione 1955/1956, vinse il Campionato di Iª Categoria ed il titolo regionale; l'anno seguente fu la volta della Coppa Disciplina, trofeo destinato alla squadra più corretta.

La Bovalinese arrivò poi prima nel Campionato di Promozione 1958/1959, approdando in IVª Serie con l'indimenticabile allenatore Michele Voros, nazionale ungherese e giocatore del Bari acclamatissimo dal pubblico pugliese.

In questo periodo, è da segnalare la più larga vittoria nella storia degli amaranto: la vittima fu la malcapitata formazione cosentina del Diamante, sconfitta per 21 a 0.

Ancora sotto la guida di Voros, l'A.S. Bovalinese ottenne il titolo di vicecampione nazionale dilettanti nella stagione 1973/1974.

Ma anche dal settora giovanile cominciarono a venire grandi soddisfazioni: nel Campionato del 1976/1977, la Bovalinese è vicecampione nazionale juniores.

Nell'estate del 1986 il Consiglio Nazionale della Lega Calcio Dilettanti ha conferito all'A.S. Bovalinese la bemerenza sportiva per il 75° anno di attività.

Ma i trionfi degli amaranto non si sono conclusi qui: hanno vinto infatti nella stagione sportiva 1989/1990 il Campionato di Promozione e si sono iscritti al Campionato Nazionale Dilettanti per le successive tre stagioni.

Purtroppo, come ogni bella favola, anche quella della Bovalinese era destinata a sfumare. Alla fine del Campionato 1992/1993 è retrocessa in Eccellenza e per problemi economici e societari non si è iscritta al campionato.

Nel cuore dei tifosi bovalinesi rimaneva solo l'Ippolitese, l'unica squadra rimasta a rappresentare la cittadina jonica.

L'attuale A.S. Bovalinese 1995 ha iniziato l'avventura calcistica dal Campionato di IIIª Categoria, vinto nella stagione 1997/1998. Dopo due anni, nella stagione 1999/2000, ha vinto dominando anche quello di IIª Categoria, per vincere ancora dopo due anni quello di Iª Categoria.

Nell'anno sportivo 2002/2003 ha militato nel Campionato di Promozione imponendosi meritatamente e conquistando quel campionato di Eccellenza così pieno di significati e nostalgie...

The actual A.S. Bovalinese 1995 have risen from the U.S. Ippolitese, formation of the fraction Bosco Sant'Ippolito, whose executives have welcomed the change of denomination and effected the registration to the championship of IIIª Categoria.

The soccer history bovalinese started thanks to the brothers Mario and Luigi Spagnolo, which, during the studies in the Military academy in Livorno, knew the game of the football, that they wanted to care in his own country native. So was born the F.C. Bovalino 1911 and the adopted social colors were the white and the ciano.

With the affiliation to the F.I.G.C. in the sporting season 1928/1929, the team was called U.S. Bovalinese and it won the National Championship of IIª Division, the equivalent of the actual Serie B.

The team was awarded the Championship 1930/1931 of the U.L.I.C. (Union Free Italian Soccer players) and in 1936 that of the G.I.L. (Italian youth of the Littorio).  

The history of the football bovalinese continues however giving flashes light. In 1946, at the end of the Second World war, with the resumption of the championships, the U.S. Bovalinese changed its name in A.S. Bovalinese and assumed as social colour the amaranth.

The newborn society, in the season 1955/1956, won the Championship of Iª Categoria and the regional title; the following year was the time of the Coppa Disciplina , trophy destined to the most correct team.

The Bovalinese arrived then first in the Championship of Promotion 1958/1959, landing in IVª Serie with the unforgettable trainer Michele Voros, national Hungarian and player of the Bari loved from the public in Puglia.

In this period, it is to signal the widest victory in the history of the amaranth: the victim was the unlucky formation cosentina of the Diamante, defeated for 21 to 0.

Anchors under the guide of Voros the A.S. Bovalinese got the title of vice-champion national dilettantes in the season 1973/1974.

But also from the juvenile sector started to come great satisfactions: in the 1976/1977 Championship, the Bovalinese is national vice champion juniores.

In the summer of 1986 the NazionalBoard of the Lega Calcio Dilettanti has conferred to the A.S. Bovalinese the sporting acclamation for the 75° year of activity.

But the triumphs of the amaranth are not concluded here: they have won in fact in the sporting season 1989/1990 the Championship of Promozione and they are enrolled in the Championship National Dilettantes for the following three seasons.

Unfortunately, as every beautiful fable, also that of the Bovalinese was destined to fall through. At the end of the Championship 1992/1993 are demoted in Eccellenza and for economic problems is not enrolled in the championship.

In the heart of the fans bovalinesi remained only the Ippolitese the only team remained to represent the city on the Jonio.

The actual A.S. Bovalinese 1995 have begun the soccer adventure from the Championship of IIIª Categoria, won in the season 1997/1998. After two years, in the season 1999/2000, have won also dominating that of IIª Categoria, to still win after two years that of Iª Categoria.

In the sporting year 2002/2003 have played in the Championship of Promozione imposing itself and conquering that championship of Eccellenza so full of meanings ...
